We were approached to extend and reconfigure the lower ground floor apartment of a Georgian mansion house in Kensington. Our client was keen to create space for an additional bedroom without compromising the expansive feel of the existing property. The chosen layout has the kitchen re-positioned within the wide hallway at the lower ground floor entrance. This solution is made possible by positioning fire rated Crittall steel doorset between the kitchen and the hallway beyond which maintains a means of escape through the front room and out of the sash windows to the front of the apartment. This layout was carefully coordinated in collaboration with our approved building control inspector and has enabled our client to maximise the potential of the apartments large footprint
